The song is written for a soprano but can be transposed for a lower female voice upon request. Written in a cabaret style, it is available two ways: as a novelty song (the composer thinks of it as a musical monologue), which allows for some comedic acting as well as singing, and as a jazz chart, with the opening and middle sections altered to allow time for solos.
